Stretching the Skin and Inflation

I have downloaded some very good pictures from CDC's Project Manager and from Ernie Keyes that show the stretching of the skin and inflation. Fastening the clamps

Darryl, on the left, giving instructions.

Watching the pull
Fastening down the skin on Thursday May 14th.
Luckily we had the skin in place before the Georgia rains came. And it rained alot!
Monday morning before we set the pumps in.
It was like a wading pool.
We put two pumps in on Monday and let them run all night. Tuesday morning there was still several inches of water on the skin. We rented a 3 inch trash pump and pumped out at least 20,000 more gallons of water Tuesday morning.
5:00 a.m Tuesday May 18th. Inflation Day.

These next 3 pictures are out of order but it is too much hassle to fix it. Below you see the Skytrak and the crane under the skin. The following pictures are of bringing the crane inside.

The Members of FBBC started arriving at 6:00 a.m. to watch the inflation.
The water was an issue but after we pumped the water off the wind became a greater concern. Inflation was postponed until 7:30 in the evening.
The beginning of the inflation at 7:30 p.m.

The waterfall as the dome inflation pushes the water off the back side.

The crowd cheered as the inflation completed. this picture was about 10 minutes after inflation and the people just stayed around and rejoiced at the sight of their new sanctuary going up.
They didn't want to leave.

A successful day.
